FAQWhat are the costs of your services? It really depends on what tests are required. Generally the range is between $2600-$3400. This includes all interactions with your school, your board, records collection, testing, report writing, supplies and additional copy of your entire file to you. We don't have add-ons, we will quote you a cost for the entire price and there should not be a reason for changes to that later.
Does insurance pay for this? We've had different luck with different insurances. It's not uncommon for third parties to pay up to 60%.
Do you give the same tests to everybody? What tests do you give? We have more than 300 tests that we can choose from to evaluate different circumstances and individual circumstances. These include batteries for learning disabilities, head trauma, ADD, and screening for many other aspects that could be affecting your performance. We consider the gold standard for special accommodations to be the State Bar of California which has a list of tests to determine learning disabilities.
What do you test for? For learning disabled individuals, there needs to be testing in three areas: 1) Achievement (how much do you know?), 2) Cognitive (what is your general intelligence and mental performance?) 3) Emotional/Psychological (is the learning disability caused by emotions?)
How would I pay for this? We will work out how much it will cost and how you can pay for it, when we determine what the entire cost will be and whether or not we will proceed with testing during the first session. There are different ways of paying for this, the most common is: 50% payment before testing begins followed by the remainder paid when the final report is finished and sent to the state board.
What means of payment are available? Cash, check, credit card. We can also refer you to a medical short-term loan service.
How long does the entire process take? Ideally, the process of first contact, initial evaluation, records collection, test selection and administration, report writing, correspondence with board will take 3 weeks. We have done it in as little as 3 days. This also depends on a client's own motivation to submit forms to the board.
How long does the testing take? You will be doing at least 10 hours of face to face testing with a technician. An additional 8 or 10 hours could be required for tests that can be taken online or in our office.
Where do you do the testing? The testing is done in our office and testing facilities. In some circumstances, we can do the testing in your office.
Do you test anyone who comes and asks for accommodations? No. One of the important considerations in the initial assessment is whether Dr. Greene feels that special accommodations would be appropriate for your situation.
Am I guaranteed accommodations? No. The final determination of whether or not you will receive special accommodations is determined by your state board or exam board. However, more than 95% of the people that we have submitted accommodations for have ultimately received them.
I’m already being tutored by someone. Would I need a new tutor through you? We will work with your tutor and provide you and them with your personalized study pattern based on your needs and style.
